Founded in 2010 by Mark Reinhart, Southern Alberta Construction Services (SACS) began by providing exterior and framing repair services to local restoration companies. From the very beginning, we built our reputation on quality work and reliability, supporting clients with critical repair and restoration needs.

Our Journey

The turning point for SACS came after the 2013 floods. At that time, many major restoration companies faced bankruptcy due to poor documentation practices, which made it difficult to collect payments from insurers. Mark found himself as a receiver in several of these cases to the bankrupt restoration companies. Instead of following suit and declaring bankruptcy, Mark made the bold decision to sell his home and personal assets to pay off suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring the company’s survival during a challenging period. This courageous move allowed SACS to continue operating, and ultimately led us to work directly with insurance companies, property managers, and property owners. Though this came with new challenges, it provided us with greater financial control and stability.

Our Success Today

More than a decade later, Mark's decision to persevere has paid off. Today, Southern Alberta Construction Services manages a wide range of projects for private clients, insurance companies, and property managers. Our team has traveled across Western Canada, taking on complex construction challenges and offering support after natural disasters. Integrity, quality, and a commitment to our clients remain the core values that drive our success.

As the company has grown, we’ve expanded into two separate entities. Southern Alberta Construction continues to thrive under the leadership of a new general manager, while Mark focuses his attention on our sister company, Southern Roofing and Waterproofing Inc., as well as various other for-profit and non-profit ventures.

Each member of our estimating and management teams began their careers as field staff, gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the construction process from the ground up. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to quality have allowed them to grow within the company, and today, they bring that same passion and expertise to every project they oversee. This unique, field-to-office journey ensures that our leadership not only understands the complexities of the work but also the value of teamwork and craftsmanship at every level.
